Summer Shape Up: Look Good, Feel Great! |
Whatsup Fitfam Summer is just around the corner, and it's the perfect time to focus on feeling your best. Whether you're hitting the beach, going on a vacation, or simply enjoying the warm weather, this month is all about getting in shape and looking good for summer. Let's kick off June with some high-energy workouts, nutrition tips, and a handy scorecard to track your progress towards your summer body goals! Summer Shape Up: Tips to Look Good and Feel Great 1. Hydration is Key Staying hydrated is essential, especially as the temperatures rise. Aim for at least 8-10 glasses of water a day. Add a pinch of high quality sea salt like Redmonds or Maldon to help your body absorb the water. Not only does it help with digestion and energy levels, but it also keeps your skin looking clear, fresh and radiant. 2. High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) Summer can be eventful and busy so add HIIT workouts into your routine, especially when you are on the go. These short, intense bursts of exercise followed by brief recovery periods can help you burn more fat in less time. Check out our exclusive HIIT workout plan below. 3. Clean Eating for a Lean Body Focus on a balanced high protein diet rich in healthy fats, and plenty of fruits and vegetables. Avoid processed foods and sugary drinks. Instead, focus on eating single ingredient foods. Nothing on the ingredient label that you can’t pronounce. 4. Get Plenty of Sleep Quality sleep is crucial for recovery and overall well-being. Aim for 7-9 hours of sleep each night to ensure your body is well-rested and ready to take on the day. --- Summer Body Scorecard: Track Your Progress If it’s not written down, it doesn’t exist. Nutrition Tips for Summer 1. Light and Refreshing Salads Try incorporating salads with fresh greens, lean proteins, and a variety of colorful veggies. Top it off with a light vinaigrette for a delicious and nutritious meal. Stay away from store bought dressings. Fresh lemon juice and a light pour of quality olive oil does the trick for me. 2. Smoothies and Juices Blend up some refreshing smoothies or juices packed with fruits, veggies, and a scoop of protein powder. Perfect for a quick breakfast or post-workout snack. 3. Grill It Up Take advantage of the warm weather and grill your favorite proteins and veggies. Grilling adds flavor without extra calories. You know that Ghanaian Togolese Grilled Chicken hits hard.
